Notices affecting CROUCH YACHT CLUB

Susan Harrison has requested that All Clubs remind their members of the Notice to Mariners No.4 2012 part of which is printed below.

An amber flashing traffic warning light will be displayed from a mast located on the discharge pontoon 10 minutes prior to a vessels arrival and 10 minutes prior to a vessels departure (Wallasea Jetty only). Additional information with regard to impending commercial movements can be obtained by calling “Wallasea Jetty" on VHF Channel 11.

Anchoring is strictly forbidden by any vessel (other than those required to do so to assist their swing) within the designated turning circle.

The turning circle is marked by the following buoys:-

1. Yellow Spherical unlit (8 knot speed limit buoy) in approximate position 51° 37.17’N 000° 50.20’E
2. Yellow special mark pillar buoy with top-mark unlit in approximate position 51°37.24’N 000°50.29’E
3. Yellow special mark pillar buoy with top-mark unlit in approximate position 51°37.18’N 000°50.50’E

All other vessels should avoid entering the turning area whilst commercial vessels are manoeuvring.

Edwin Buckley reported that the Crane on the Wallasea pontoon will be moved to the western end to complete the upgrade of the conveyors. By the 30th May four ships a day are expected and this will eventually increase to six in 24 hours. The attending tugs will be using sound signals between 0600hrs and 2000hrs
