On Sunday, 13th June it was the Crouch Yacht club’s second race in their Summer Series.  With the wind blowing in a Southerly direction the course was set to take the boats into the River Roach in order for them to achieve windward/leeward legs.  All the boats set off from the start flying spinnakers and soon were making their way down the River.  When the boats again came into sight of the Race Box Encore owned by Paul Trueman was leading the race from Mantra (Phillip and Sally Harbott) followed by Harvest Moon (Paul Drew).  This is the order they crossed the line but after applying the handicaps the winner was Harvest Moon followed by Mantra and Encore in third place. 
 
Next week is the second race in the Two Handed Series – this series has been nominated as a non-spinnaker series and the last race attracted 9 boats including two local handicap boats.  Non-members are always welcome to join in the races.
